Welcome, Pollinators!

Updated: Mar 12, 2022

In January, I posted a list of 12 Green Resolutions for 2021. The one I was the most excited about was #6: Be kind to your wild neighbors. This year I have been working hard to turn my yard into a habitat for birds, butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. My yard is a work in progress in many ways, but the pollinator garden – which started out as a gravel pad for grilling, is finally coming into its own. The flowers are blooming, the bees are buzzing, AND I saw my first monarch butterfly this week! If you want to learn more about how important pollinator gardens are and how to make your own, please visit the Million Pollinator Garden page. This post is a visual celebration of pollinators and blooms so far.

I am definitely a beginner flower gardener, but I did all this (with help from my mom!) in just a couple months. I hope this helps inspire you to create your own pollinator gardens. 🙂
